Things I Have Been 'Drinking In'

Saturday, December 3, 2011
Two more months left in Canterbury. 3 weeks ago we had no idea we'd be leaving so soon. And suddenly I only have two months to drink in the things that I love about living here.

Not a great photo, but these four people are the BEST neighbours in the entire world. How lucky have we been to live next to one couple and just down the road from the other. And how sad I am to be leaving. I cried and cried when I had to go and tell them we were moving.

The Canterbury countryside and big skies.

Peonie Roses

Christchurch city as it rebuilds.

No Snow In Tauranga. So glad we had two snowfalls this last winter.

My Orchard

Lovely, South Island friends and family.

I bet you will miss your orchard. Heres hoping you go to one that is established!

Your home looks lovely - I drooled over the walk in pantry and Red kettle!

That is so great, how God has worked out the school issue and your husband's job. I pray that He will continue to give you guidance and provide just the right place to live. But I'm so sorry you are sad - understandable. Enjoyed seeing the photos of your lovely home. Perhaps your new home will be even better - it's possible! Hey, my stamp-collecting son still talks about the New Zealand Kate-William stamps I won here on your blog. (Thanks again!) So you are thought of and talked about more than you know, here in the Northwest of Oregon! I'll keep you and your family in prayer. - Kate

This really tugged at my heart, having packed up and left my home to come to Auckland 13 years ago.

Praying that all goes well for you all xx

So sad to hear you are leaving our wonderful area for Tauranga. I bet you won't miss the earthquakes. But like you say, there is much you will be leaving.
In a funny twist, we are leaving Christchurch and moving our your way!
We like the area north of the Ashley River, so will be selling up and looking for a property with some land. Would love to buy your house, it's beautiful. However the need for paddocks, workshops and barns must come first, sob.

Have a great day
Blessings
